Subscription Update Obituary

     Arthur J. “Bumpa” Foulkrod, 70, of Worcester, died Wednesday, September 11th in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife of 22 years, Elaine C. (Pickett) Foulkrod died in 1989. He leaves a son, Steven M. Foulkrod and his wife Teresa; three daughters, Catherine A. Foulkrod, Christine M. Foulkrod, and Amy L. Foulkrod, all of Worcester; two brothers, Jon M. Foulkrod of Edinboro, PA and Daniel Foulkrod of Ft. Belvoir, VA; four sisters, Kathleen Berger of Edinboro, PA, Judy Martin of Erie, PA, Rose Lucas of Edinboro, PA, and Joan Meyer of Plainfield, IL; four grandchildren, Jacob, Tayla, Samantha, and Grace Foulkrod; nephews and nieces.

     He was born in Erie, PA, the son of John and Marie (Pfeffer) Foulkrod and lived here for many years. Mr. Foulkrod graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in Fire Science; and had been employed by the Worcester Fire Department for 31 years, retiring as Captain in 2002. Arthur was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Main South Post 341, Firefighters Union, Local 1009; and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

     His funeral is Monday, September 16th with a service at 10:30 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, September 15th in the funeral home. Contributions in Arthur’s memory may be made to the Life Skills Program at Auburn High School, 99 Auburn Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
