Subscription Update Obituary

Arthur H. Prior, 91, a long time resident of Worcester, South Dennis, MA and Ormond Beach, FL, died December 3 in Worcester, MA surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Worcester on July 6, 1915, the son of Henry N. and Eva May (Hunt) Prior. He graduated from South High and Becker Junior College and served as a Japanese code breaker in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Arthur was a cost accountant for Crompton and Knowles in Worcester and retired after 40 years of service. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Arthur is survived by a son, Robert A. Prior and his former wife, Eileen M., a daughter, Virginia A. Shannon and her husband Martin A., four grandchildren, Katherine J. Prior, Megan M. Shannon, Colleen M. Shannon and Timothy J. Shannon, a nephew Donald Prior and a niece Judith Prior. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Minns Prior who died in 1974 and his second wife, Rita Langevin Prior who died in 1999. In addition, he was predeceased by his brother Raymond Prior and a granddaughter, Kerry A. Shannon.

There will be a ceremony at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 6 at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arthur's name to Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave., Worc., MA 01606. Arrangements are under the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St.
