Subscription Update Obituary

   LYONS, ARTHUR D., 86, passed away on Sunday, at the Steere House in Providence. He was the beloved husband of forty-five years to Barbara (Smith) Lyons. Born in Worcester, MA he was the son of the late Daniel and Virginia (Manseau) Lyons.

   Mr. Lyons was a Respiratory Therapist for the VA Medical Center in Providence, retiring in 1986, after thirty-five years. He then went to work as a driver for his son-in-law’s business. Mr. Lyons was an Army Medic during WWII and received the purple heart for injuries sustained in France. He loved to fish, but was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.

   Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Sharon L. Montecalvo and her husband Gregory; two sons, Joseph D. Lyons and his wife Mary, Steven T. Lyons and his wife Kristy; his grandchildren, Nicole, Aaron, Derek, and Daniel; his sister-in-law, Mildred Lyons; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rosalie Orsi and Edward Lyons.

  Calling hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Funeral Thursday at 9 AM, with a Service to follow at 10 AM, in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
