Subscription Update Obituary

Arlene E. Neuvonen, age 86, died peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at The Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a period of declining health.

Born in New York City, Arlene was the daughter of Carl A. and Aino V (Lake) Neuvonen. She grew up in Leicester, graduating from Leicester High School. In her high school yearbook Arlene was described as “Sweet and Sophisticated”. She worked for many years at the UMASS Medical Center in the Medical Billing department. A lifelong Red Sox fan, she attended many games in her younger years and rarely missed them on tv.

Arlene will be lovingly missed and remembered by her devoted nephews, Joseph C. Arguijo and his wife, Kerry of Rutland, their two daughters, Esperanza and Emelie and Jason Arguijo of Glendale, AZ. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Karin I. Arguijo, her nephew, Thomas H. Arguijo, and her best friend, Cleo George.

Family and friends will gather for Calling Hours from 10:00 – 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3rd at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with interment following at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, payable to “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute”, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9188.
