Subscription Update Obituary

     Antonio (Tony) Alves, 77, of 22 Pelican Ave., died Friday Nov. 2 in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

     He leaves his wife of 49 years, Marilyn J. (Mongeon) Alves, 2 daughters, Candice and her husband Gary Umphrey, and Tracy and her husband Michael Thomasino, both of Worcester, a niece, Heather and her husband Drew Brosseau of Wellesley, 2 grandchildren, Erika and Brendon, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sisters Zita Manning and Linda Erickson.

     Born in Worcester, son of Manuel and Maria (Marques) Alves, he served in the Army from 1953-55 and worked for 35 years at Rand Whitney in Worcester. He was a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, loved all the local sports, and his grandchildren.

     A funeral service will be held at 11 am. Tuesday Nov. 6 in CASWELL-KING FUNERAL HOME 474 Grove St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours will be from 5-7 pm. Monday Nov. 5 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
