Subscription Update Obituary

     Anthony J. Torte, Sr., 91, of Charlton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2013. He leaves his children; James Paradis of West Boylston, Steve Torte of Manchester, N.H., Anthony J. Torte, Jr. and his wife Tammy Martin of West Harwich, Dawn M. Morrison and her husband Michael of Petersham, Charlene Breton and her husband Stephen of Chandler, AZ., and Laurie L. Fenneuff and her husband Ronald of Leicester, he was also blessed with 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren, a sister Theresa Finezza of California and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John B. Torte,II, and his sister, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Cyr.

     Tony was born in Worcester, son of John B. and Mary (DiNigro) Torte, Sr., and lived in Charlton 25 years. He was a WWII, U. S. Army Veteran and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was awarded a Purple Heart Medal. He worked for Brewer Tree Co. in Worcester for many years and retired in 1970.

     He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who spent many days reading his bible and working in his yard.

     Calling Hours for Tony will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 2PM to 4PM with a Service at 4PM in the ROBERT J.MILLER-CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Rd., in Charlton. Burial will be Private in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
