Annette M. (Bovick) Girard, 96, formerly of 39 First Street, died Friday, January 1st in The Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband of 38 years, Ernest O. Girard, died in 1983.

    She leaves a daughter, Karen H. Barsum of Sutton; a grandson, Daniel Barsum and his wife Emily of Auburn; a sister, Mary Laing of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and Vincent Bovick, and two sisters, Marcella Dupuis and Ann Carney.

    She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Skluit) Bovick and was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, having served as President of Unit 5 of Worcester and past director of the Worcester County Council American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Girard was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a former member of the 39's Club, the Past Presidents Club of Worcester County, and the 8 & 40 La Boutique Des Huit Chapeaux et Quarante Femmes. Annette loved flowers and was proud of her flower gardens. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, traveling; especially foliage trips and her trip to Hawaii. She loved her dogs, Patsy, Ginger, and Suzie.

    The funeral is Tuesday, January 5th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 4th in the funeral home.
