AUBURN: Anne J. Gordon, 91, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025 at Brookdale Eddy Pond, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Donald W. Gordon. Anne and Don built a home and raised their family in Leicester for more than 25 years before moving permanently to their lake home in Spencer. Born in Worcester, Anne was the daughter of Harry E. Wise and Anna (Grabowski) Wise, both of whom she cared for in their declining years of life. She was also predeceased by her brother, Harry J. Wise and sister Janet Crosby. Anne will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Donna McCarthy of Oxford, Mark Gordon of Winthrop, James Gordon and his wife Lisa of Salisbury, and Lynn Cummins and her husband Timothy of Auburn. Anne was a beloved grandmother to Alexandra Gordon Maymind and her husband Leo, Justine Gordon, Thomas Gordon, Casey Cummins and his wife Laura, Micah Cummins and his wife Sarah, and Zachary McCarthy and his fiancée Hillary Tomsyck. She was a loving great grandmother to Kyle, Caroline, Olivia and Talia as well.

Anne graduated from South High School, where she played tennis, was a member of the yearbook committee, and was voted Most Likely to Succeed. She began her career at State Mutual Life Insurance Company, rising to a supervisory role before starting her family. Later in life, Anne worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the Pediatrics department at Fallon Clinic before her retirement. Anne was a faithful member of St. Aloysius Parish in Rochdale, where she volunteered with the Parish Guild and helped to organize their annual holiday fairs. For nearly ten years, Anne was a dedicated volunteer at Auburn Youth and Family Services, where she took remarkable care in organizing and displaying donations of clothing and furnishings for families in need.

Anne enjoyed traveling, particularly when it did not involve flying; along with many family camping trips and excursions to Eastover with friends, she and Don completed a long, cross-country road trip that provided cherished memories. Her love of shopping and an eye for uncluttered and classic design was reflected in her wardrobe, and in her beautiful home and gardens. Anne’s family is deeply grateful to every member of the staff of Brookdale Clare Bridge Memory Care and Autumn Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to our mother. Their work is extremely challenging, yet their compassion is unwavering.

A funeral service is Monday, December 1, 2025 at noon at MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester, MA 01524 followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
