Subscription Update Obituary

     Anne E. “Nancy” (Crowley) Hackett, 82, of Worcester, died Monday, October 15th in the Knollwood Nursing Center. Her husband, William H. Hackett, Jr. died in 1995.

She leaves 4 sons, William H. Hackett, III, Vincent P., Paul J., Robert E. Hackett all of Worcester; a daughter, Susan M. Charest of Auburn; a sister, Sister Mary Bernadette of West Springfield; 8 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, John J. Crowley, Jr. and Edward Crowley predeceased her. She was born in Worcester the daughter of John J. and Anna E. (Bennett) Crowley and was a graduate of Girls Trade.

Mrs. Hackett had been employed by New England Telephone as an operator for 10 years, and later by the former Shawmut Bank, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, its Woman’s Club, the Worcester Association for the Retarded, the 39’ers Club and the former St. Charles Social Club.

The funeral is Thursday, October 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 17th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home, In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mercy Centre, 25 West Chester Street, Worcester, MA 01605 or Children’s Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn Street, Boston, MA 02215.
