Anna E. (Erikson) Palmer, 87, of 425 Drozdyk Dr., Groton, Ct., died Saturday, Jan. 20 in Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, Ct.

She was the wife of Milford A. Palmer who died in 1991. She leaves a son, Paul D. Seely and his wife Peggy of Old Saybrook, Ct., three grandchildren, Tyler and David Seely of Old Saybrook and Jesse Arsenault of Los Cruces, N.M., two great-granddaughters, three step children and 4 step grandchildren, a niece and cousin. She is predeceased by a daughter, Joy Thomlinson in 1992 and a brother, Gustaf A. Erikson of Worcester.

Mrs. Palmer graduated from the former Commerce High and later Becker College in Worcester, MA. She worked at the former American Mutual Insurance Co. for 12 years in Worcester and Hartford, and then went to work for Pratt Whitney, division of United Technologies in E. Hartford for 22 years, before retiring in 1975.

She was born in Ludvika, Sweden, the daughter of Gustaf H. and Anna (Leijonhud) Erikson and came to this country in 1923.

She formerly lived at 116 Lake Dr. in Leicester from 1975-2004 before returning to Conn.

She was a member of the Order of VASA, Quinsigamond Lodge 517 in Worcester, the Leicester Senior Citizen Club, Spencer and Bancroft (Worcester) chapters of A.A.R.P., and the Leicester Seniors Bowling League. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church and Bigelow Chapter, OES both in E.Hartford, Ct.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 11a.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, MA, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
