Subscription Update Obituary

    Ann M. (Matulis) Roman, 88, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Jewish Healthcare Center.

    She leaves her husband of 70 years, Edward Roman; a son, Edward Roman and his wife Susan of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Donna Coombs of Worcester; four grandchildren, Christopher Coombs, Nathan Coombs, Marc Roman, and Victoria Roman; and a great-grandson, Noah Coombs; a brother, Walter Matulis of Upton; and a sister, Arlene Stalilonis of Oakland, ME. A sister, Nellie Chuplis predeceased her.

    She was born in Boylston, daughter of Peter and Monica (Leckiute) Matulis. She graduated from Commerce High School. Ann retired from The Warner & Swasey Co. after 25 years. Ann enjoyed spending time at their home on the Cape. She was an avid gardener and loved making cut-and dried-flower arrangements. She was a fabulous cook and baker. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured time spent caring for her family.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. A calling hour will be held an hour prior to the service from 9-10. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
