Subscription Update Obituary

    Ann M. (Foran) Hair, 88, of South Road, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.

    Her husband of 55 years, George F. Hair, died in 2003. She is survived by her son, George R. Hair, Sr. and his wife Kate of Oakham; a daughter, Carol Ann Smith of Paxton; her brother, James Foran of Cherry Hill, NJ; 5 grandchildren, Ashley and George Hair, Jr., Michelle Hunting, Jeannine Hair and Brian Clancey; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, John Foran and a son-in-law, Robert W. Smith, predeceased her. Ann was born in Worcester the daughter of James J. and Julia (O'Connor) Foran and lived 42 years in Paxton and several years in West Yarmouth before moving to Oakham in 2000.

    Ann was a secretary for several years at Norton Co. Previously, she worked for Merrill & Usher Steel Co. both in Worcester. She was a devoted member of St. Columba Church and its Women's Club in Paxton and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 27th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral for Ann will be held on Monday, December 28th from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
