Subscription Update Obituary

     Andrew “Andy” C. Daly of Edith Lane, Rutland, died with his loving family by his side on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born in Worcester, Andy was the son of Andrew J. and Charlotte E. (Peterson) Daly. He lived 35 years in Rutland.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Noreen V. (Sallie) Daly; his son, Andrew J. Daly and his wife Kelley of Holden; two daughters, Katie L. Ricciardi and her husband Christopher of E. Brookfield and Bridget M. Grensavitch and her husband David of Holden; six grandchildren, Amanda, Patrick and Natalie Daly, Emma and Ryan Grensavitch, with the sixth one due in December; and nieces and nephews.
     After attending South High School in Worcester, Andy served his country with the United States Army 11th Cavalry in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 where he received the combat infantryman badge. After returning home, he went to work for Norton Company for 35 years. He retired in 2004.
     Andy had a passion for golf and was a member of both Holden Hills Country Club in Holden and Kettle Brook Golf Club in Paxton. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was proud of both his children and grandchildren.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 27, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester Country Memorial Park, Paxton.
