Anastasia H. “Ann” (Krencisz) Hasanowicz, 84, formerly of 57 Endicott St, died peacefully Friday, April 20 in Radius Healthcare Center, Worcester. Her husband of 56 years, Sam A. Hasanowicz died in 2002.

She leaves two sons, Dennis P. Hasanowicz of Browns Mills, NJ, and James A. Hasanowicz and his wife Christine of Worcester; a daughter, Carol A. Desrosiers of Worcester; two sisters, Jane E. Waitele and Marion Rzucidlo, both of Worcester; a brother, Edmund Krencisz of South Yarmouth; two granddaughters, Carrie B. Desrosiers and Amy L. Desrosiers and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Dziejma and Genevieve Klucznik. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Andrew and Veronica (Szepietowski) Krencisz and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Hasanowicz was a machine operator 10 years for Parker Manufacturing Co. and retired in 1987. She had also worked for Rex Nord Chain Belt Co., and H.H. Brown Shoe Co. in Spencer. Ann was also a skilled seamstress and worked many years for the former Roxy Cleaners on Millbury St.

She was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade High School and was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Ann volunteered for 15 years at the former Belmont Home and for 3 years at Christopher House. She was a member of the Belmont Home Community Association. Mrs. Hasanowicz was devoted to her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, cooking and crocheting afghans.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 24 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday April 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Radius Healthcare Patient Activity Fund, 119 Providence St, Worcester, MA 01604.
