Subscription Update Obituary

Alice (Begin) Varney, 74, of 47 Providence St., died Thursday, October 12 in her home.

She leaves her husband and caregiver of 51 years, Arthur Varney, a son, Michael Varney and his fiancée Anna Confer of Worcester; a daughter, Debra Varney of Worcester; two sisters, Marie Howe of Springfield and Rita Burrows of Douglas; a granddaughter, Danielle Varney, nephews and nieces and a special friend, Laura Dube of Worcester. She was born in Uxbridge, a daughter of Joseph and Amelea (Biron) Begin and has lived here for 51 years.

Mrs. Varney worked several years for Hasbro Toy Co., in Rhode Island many years ago. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

The funeral will be held on Monday, October 16 at 10:00 am in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, October 15 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
