Subscription Update Obituary

   Alice M. (Smith) Flynn, 81, of Worcester, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the Knollwood Nursing Center.

   She leaves her husband of 55 years, Henry T. Flynn, four children, Deborah A. and her husband Edward F. Martel, Thomas H. and his wife Susan M. Flynn, all of Worcester, Linda M. and her husband Jack Petty of Barre, and Nancy E. and her husband Philip J. LaHair of No. Grosvernordale, CT, a brother, Waldo Smith, a sister, Evelyn Weckel, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Guinard.

   Alice was born in Lancaster, daughter of Waldo and Grace (Blood) Smith. She has lived in Worcester more than 50 years.

   She worked many years in the home of Paul and Nancy Morgan. Previously, she worked at the Perkins School in Lancaster.

   She was a member of St. Bernard's Parish and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a longtime volunteer with the St. Bernard's CYC. She was a member of the Harlow St. School PTA. She was a volunteer with the Visiting Nurses Assn. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

   Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Sunday, May 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Monday, May 19 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, 228 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

   Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard's Parish Renewal Fund, 236 Lincoln St., Worcester 01605.
