Subscription Update Obituary

     Alice J. (Cormier) Gentile, 70, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Worcester Rehab & Healthcare Center, Worcester after an illness.

     She leaves her husband of 50 years, Carl E. Gentile; a daughter, Jane Adams; 3 grandchildren, Felicia and Amanda Adams and Jessica Beland; 3 brothers, Henry Cormier of Spencer, David Cormier of Missouri and Joseph Cormier of New Hampshire; a sister, Yvette Besse of Missouri; a step-brother, Charles Cormier of Dudley; a step-sister, Joyce Paquette of Whitinsville; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Richard Cormier, by a sister Doris Brown and by her step-mother, Eleanor Cormier.

     She was born in Worcester and raised in the Rochdale section of Leicester, a daughter of Lionel J. and Rita J. (Ledoux) Cormier. She lived in Worcester before moving to Webster in the 1980’s.

     Mrs. Gentile was a ticket collector at Indian Ranch for many years.

     The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Eldercare in Charlton for their compassionate care of Alice; she enjoyed her weekly visits there.

     The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 12, at 10:00 AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 8:45 to 10:00 AM Wednesday in the funeral home.
