Subscription Update Obituary

Alice C. (Weldon) Welch, 80, of Worcester died on Saturday, September 24th 2011 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.

Mrs. Welch was the wife of George W. Welch who died in 1992. She will be deeply missed by her four children, Sharon R. Fischer of Worcester, Paul R. Welch, Sr. and his wife Shirley, of Webster, William G. Welch and his wife Gail, of Charlton, Richard P. Welch and his wife Pam, of Worcester; her loving sister, Jeannette L. Chenevert, of Worcester, and her two brothers, Edward Weldon, Jr. of Worcester, and Alfred Weldon of Dudley; 11 grandchildren; a grandson who predeceased her; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and several very close nieces and nephews. Her brother Paul Weldon, Sr. predeceased her.

Alice was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Duchesneau) Weldon.

Mrs. Welch was a warm, kind, giving, unselfish, unique, fun-loving, carefree woman who opened her home and heart to everyone and loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed to be entertained by games of all kinds.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
