Subscription Update Obituary

Alfred W. “Bill” “Uncle B” Plitnick, 81, of Beaumont Drive and formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC died Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Milford Regional Hospital. Bill is survived by his two sisters: Patricia Zepperi, of CT, and Marilyn Ball, of Whitinsville. Additionally, he is survived by several nephews and nieces including his goddaughters Pamela (Plitnick) LaPorte, Danielle (Paulhus) Burke, Carrie (Zepperi) Lamonto, and Lynne (LaPorte) LeBlanc. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Cynthia (Van Batenburg) Plitnick on August 16, 2024, his sisters Cheryl Plitnick and Maureen Paulhus, brother-in-law Richard Paulhus, and his stepson Christopher Gagliastre.

Born March 19, 1944, in Worcester, he was the son of the late Alfred C. and Constance G. (Basel) Plitnick. Mr. Plitnick graduated from North High School in 1963 and continued his education at Northeastern University where he received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. After graduating, he worked for many years at Cranston Print Works, in Webster. Alfred and Cynthia lived in Oxford, MA for many years before retiring to Myrtle Beach, SC, in 2001.  

A calling hour at Carr Funeral Home 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, will be held from 11AM until Noon on Monday August 18. Burial at Worcester County Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfred’s memory may be made to your local food bank.
