Dr. Alfred N. Belisle, 89, of 16 Mayflower Circle died Sunday night in the home of his daughter in Taylor, PA, after a short illness.

His wife, Blanche (Poissant) Belisle, died in 1988. He leaves three daughters, Cecile B. Champagne of Taylor, Diane B. Birch of Worcester and Estelle O. Belisle of Creissan, Herault, France; three grandchildren, and a niece. Dr. and Mrs. Belisle were married in 1940. He was born in Worcester, son of Napoleon and Julienne C. (Peloquin) Belisle, and lived here most of his life.

Dr. Belisle graduated from Classical High School in 1921 and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, in 1926. He was a dentist here for 43 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member and former Eucharistic minister of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, and past president of the Notre des Canadiens Social Club. Dr. Belisle was a member and former president of the Bancroft Chapter, American Association of Retired Persons. He was a member of Conseil Franchere–Laurier, Union St. Jean Baptiste d’Amerique. He was a life member and former president of the Harmony Club of Worcester. Dr. Belisle was a life member of the Worcester District, Massachusetts, and American Dental Societies. He was the former secretary of the Lake Quinsigamond Commission.

The funeral will be Thursday from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Members of the Harmony Club of Worcester will meet there at 7 p.m. tomorrow to conduct a ritual. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Renovation Fund of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Whitman Road, Worcester, 01609.
