Albina M. (Kasabula) Zukowski, 86, died Saturday, December 18, in St. Vincent Hospital, 123 Summer St. Her husband, Aleck L. Zukowski, died in 1980. She leaves two sons: Robert L. Zukowski and his wife Gale and William A. Zukowski, all of Spencer; a sister, Barbara Novak and her husband Fred from Englewood, OH; six grandchildren: Jan, Jeffrey, Stefan, David, Stefanie and Alexa; two great-grandchildren: Jack and Thomas and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers: Joseph and Henry Kasabula and four sisters: Agnes Zinkus, Jane Budrejko, Theresa Gryncewicz and Anna Roberts. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Peter and Aleksandra (Sokol) Kasabula.
Mrs. Zukowski worked as a teachers' aide in the culinary arts department of The David Hale Fanning Trade School, retiring in 1981. She was a member and past president of the Polish American Veterans of WWII Auxiliary of Worcester and was also a past state president for the organization. Albina was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its Women's Guild. She was noted for her cake decorating skills and the many wedding cakes she made for her family members. The family would like to thank the staff of Overlook Masonic Health Center of Charlton and St. Vincent Hospital for their loving care provided to Albina.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 22, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, December 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the P.A.V. Auxiliary will gather at 5:30 p.m. during calling hours for prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Worcester, MA.
