Subscription Update Obituary

Albert W. Lamorey, 85, of Worcester formerly or 48 Airlie St. passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 19, 2011 with his family by his side.

Albert was born in Fitchburg, a son of William and Wilma Lamorey, he graduated from High School entered the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II, he has lived here all his life.

Albert’s wife of 60 years, Gloria M. (Esteves) Lamorey passed away in 2006. He is survived by his two daughters, Donna M. Fletcher and her husband Richard of Vero Beach, Sandra G. Blanchard and her husband Roy with whom he lived; four grandchildren, Keith, Kim, Ashley, and Courtney; three great grandchildren, Jonathan D., Amelya, and Brooklyn Grace; Neices, nephews, extended family and friends. A sister, Alberta Morris pre deceased him.

Al worked over 40 years for the formerly Henley Lundgren Construction Company before retiring.

He was a member and past commander of the Victor Quaranta Post American Legion in Shrewsbury, and the Laborers International Union of North America. Al enjoyed playing Golf and found many enjoyable memories on the golf course with family and friends. In his youth Al played for softball for the former Bronzo’s Team. Al’s most enjoyable times were the moments he could spend with his family. His wife, daughters and grandchildren were his inspiration and life’s treasure.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21st at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial next to his wife with Military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held Friday from 10 am to 11 am in the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave Worcester 01606.
