Subscription Update Obituary

     Albert Novick, 92, of Worcester, died Friday, June 15th in Parson Hill Nursing Center. His wife, Sadie (Baker) Lavalle Novick, died in 2009. He leaves a niece, Kathleen Walsh of Worcester; two nephews, Edward Walsh of Worcester and Michael Walsh of Florida; a step-daughter, Sandra Bachant of Broomfield, CO; two grandchildren, Robert Bachant of Alabama and Steven Bachant of Florida; and four great grandchildren.
     He was born in Shenandoah, PA, the son of William and Margaret Novick and lived here for many years. Mr. Novick was a machinist at Timex and had been a lube man at Wyman Gordon and Chandler Motors. He was a mason and past commander of the Althea Grotto and had been an active Shriner for 30 years. Albert was a member of the Auburn Lodge of Elks, and had been named Elk of the Year. He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 318 and was a clown for 10 years and a champion pool player. Albert was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
     Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 20th from 10:00 A.M. until Noon in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A funeral service will follow at Noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or Homeless Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
