Subscription Update Obituary

    Agnes M. (White) Hickey, 93, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness.

    Her husband of 61 years, Charles E. Hickey, died in 1999. She leaves two daughters, Carol A. Guerro and her husband Richard of Holden and Gail A. Buffone of Holden and her companion Michael Shea of Spencer; a sister, Evelyn Rolander of Florida; five grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Churchey, Michelle Boyce, Richard C. Buffone and Sonya Hickey; eight great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. A son, James R. Hickey, two brothers, Edgar and Amos White and two sisters, Edna Beron and Lillian Forsman predeceased her.

    Agnes was born in Auburn the daughter of Melois and Elizabeth (Bourgeous) White and lived in Auburn and Leicester before moving to Holden. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church and volunteered at the Emeritus Lodge at Eddy Pond in Auburn. Mrs. Hickey was a member of the Friends of the Holden Council on Aging and volunteered with their pen pal program. She loved to travel, play cards and spending time with her family.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral for Agnes will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 3rd, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210 or the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
