Subscription Update Obituary

   Agnes A. (Butler) Arsenault, 85, of Peach St., formerly of Hubbardston, died, Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in UMass Memorial, Lake Ave., Worcester, after an illness.

   Her beloved husband of 60 years, Arthur J. Arsenault, died in 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Leona A. Katz and her husband Philip of Oakham; three sons, Gerald A. Arsenault and his late wife Sandra of Mt. Plymouth, Florida, Joseph W. Arsenault and his wife Virginia of Gardner, and Albert W. Arsenault of South Barre; a sister, Barbara F. Hall of Wheelwright; 7 grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Brian, Scott, Justin and his wife Jennifer, Amber and her husband, Daniel, Nicole and her husband Eric, Jessica, and Paul; 5 great grandchildren, Taylor, Kiya, Elias, Brandon, and Ryder; and many nephews and nieces. A brother, Harold W. Butler and a sister, Phyllis N. Brown, predeceased her. She was born in Hubbardston the daughter of Albert W. and Ethel M. (Wheeler) Butler and lived many years in Hubbardston before moving to South Barre.

   Agnes attended South Deerfield High School. She was a devoted homemaker who volunteered as the secretary for the PTA in Hubbardston. She worked for Goodnow Pearson & Co. and Haywood-Wakefield both in Gardner. She loved spending time with her family, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

   Funeral services for Agnes will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barre Rescue & Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 201, Barre, MA 01005.
