Subscription Update Obituary

   Adella M. (Mikenas) Rice, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 24 with her family by her side.

   Her husband, Ernest M. Rice predeceased her. She leaves two sons, David Rice and his wife, Susan of Millbury and Richard Rice of Worcester; her daughter, Patricia Daly of Worcester; her daughter-in-law, Mary Rice of Worcester; two sisters, Frances Cote of Westford and Lucille Walkiewicz of Grafton; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her son, Ernest M. Rice, Jr. predeceased her.

   She was born in Worcester the daughter of Anthony and Agnes (Scensnas) Mikenas and graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Rice was an LPN and was working at The Greenary at age 70. She was a member of St. Casmir's Church, the Lithuanian Women's Club and the Worcester Opera Club, where she also sang. She volunteered and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, especially to Canada, and needlepoint.

   The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 AM at St. Casmir's Church, 41 Providence St. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104, for the excellent care that Adella's granddaughter, Samantha Shea, receives from there. Arrangements are under the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME.
