Subscription Update Obituary

     Ada M. (Power) Gagnon, 92, passed away, Monday, August 27, 2012. Her husband of 62 years, Chester E. Gagnon predeceased her in 2004. She leaves two sons, Timothy J. Gagnon and his wife Jean of E. Brookfield and Thomas F. Gagnon of Spencer; three daughters, Mary Lou Kayser of Littleton, CO, Margaret A. Wilson and her husband Charles, whom lovingly cared for Ada for the past 8 years of Leicester and Joan M. Gagnon of Worcester; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ada was predeceased by her son, Michael F. Gagnon in 1998 and her siblings, Thomas, Helen, Florence, Bernard and Margaret.
     She was born in Worcester daughter of Thomas F. and Gertrude M. (Loughnane) Power and graduated from Commerce High School. Ada worked as a Home Health Aide for Worcester Family Service for many years, retiring in 1982. She was a longtime and active member of Our Lady of the Angels Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, lector and belonged to the Mother’s Club and Woman’s Guild. Ada was also an avid New England sports fan especially when it came to the Red Sox and Patriots.
     The funeral will be held on Thursday, August 30 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Wednesday, August 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or to Abbey’s House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609.
