Subscription Update Obituary

   Edward T. “Gramps” Carter Jr., 76, of Worcester died peacefully on Saturday, March 15th.

   Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 51 years Janet (Lagace) Carter of Worcester; three sons Edward T. Carter III and his wife Christine of Houston, TX, Paul M. Carter and his wife Meredith of Leicester and John D. Carter and his wife Kimberly of Amesbury, MA; 7 grandchildren Joshua, Laura, Darci, Elyse, Kelly, Paul Jr. and Nicholas; 2 great grandchildren Jeffrey and Michael and several nephews and nieces. Edward was born in Westport, MA son of the late Edward and Ethel (Alty) Carter and is predeceased by a sister Barbara Cree.

   Mr. Carter was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. and worked for 38 years at Rand-Whitney as a lift truck operator before his retirement in 1994. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

   The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Church 931 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Tuesday, March 18th, from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Worcester, MA 01610.
