Subscription Update Obituary

    Peter Zuidema, 93, of Auburn, died Friday, June 26th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

    He leaves his wife of 31 years, Fabiola E. Zuidema; three sons, Wayne Peter, Albert D. and Gary D. Zuidema; two brothers, Albert and Clarence Zuidema; his sister, Shirley Kimtick; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife, Irene G. (Willar) and his son, Augustus S. Zuidema. Five brothers, Andrew, David and Frank Zuidema and William and Thomas Calman and two sisters, Alice “Elsie” Lancot and Rena LaFlash also predeceased him.

    Mr. Zuidema was born in Northbridge, the son of Sidney and Teresa (Upperwall) Zuidema. He was an assistant manager for Pond’s Lumber and had previously worked for Howe-Whitney Lumber Company. Mr. Zuidema was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
