Ernest A. Perron, 72, of 253 St. Nicholas Ave. died yesterday in Lincoln Nursing Home, 299 Lincoln St., after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Mary F. (Tillier) Perron, and two daughters, Ernestine F. Grenier of Marlboro and Jacqueline M. Alberts of Winthrop, N.Y. He was born in Whitinsville, son of Albert and Flora (Duquette) Perron, and lived in Worcester since 1964.
He was a forklift operator for Ziff paper Co. for 22 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that, he served on active duty with the Army from 1940 until 1964, retiring as a master sergeant. He served in the European theater during world War II.
He was a member of West Boylston VFW and American Legion posts and St. Joan of Arc Church.
The funeral will be held Saturday from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
