Subscription Update Obituary

   Edward George, 88, of 8 Afra Drive, died Thursday, April 10 at his home surrounded by his family.

   He was born in Worcester, son of John and Edna (Abusamra) George and graduated from Commerce High School.

   He leaves his wife, Mildred E. (Bacon) George; a son, Jay George of Worcester; two daughters, Karyn Liberty of Shrewsbury and Sue Colangelo of New Hampshire and Florida; two sisters, Adelle Giddens and Marion Moriarty both of Florida; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert George and John George and a sister, Isabelle Johnson. He was a WWII Army veteran.

   Mr. George was general manager for Harrington Richardson for most of his career. He also worked for Sig Arms of New Hampshire, was Vice President of Rawlings Gear in Shrewsbury and was a Real Estate Agent.

   He was a member of the American Legion, Realtors Association and the First Presbyterian Church.

   The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, April 14, in First Presbyterian Church, 125 Holden St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 1 to 4 P.M. Sunday, April 13 in Howard C. Allen Funeral Home, 653 Main St., Shrewsbury.
