Aleck L. Zukowski, 59, of 53 Dorchester St. died October 17, 1980 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He was employed as an equipment operator for the Worcester Street Department for 24 years before retirement in 1978 due to poor health.
Mr. Zukowski leaves his wife, Albina (Kasabula) Zukowski of Worcester; two sons, Robert L. Zukowski of Spencer and William A. Zukowski of Worcester a city patrolman; two brothers, John F. Zukowski and Antoni A. Zukowski, both of Lynn; three sisters, Ann, wife of Edward Zayac of Peabody, Sophie, wife of Theodore Novakowski of Lynn, and Stella, wife of Walter Dumblauskas of Saugus, and three grandsons, Jan, Jeffrey and Stefan Zukowski.
He was born in Millbury, son of the late Ludig and Wladyslawa (Rydzewski) Zukowski, and moved here in 1941.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Zukowski served as a motor machinist\’s mate second class serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Battle. He was a past state commander of the Polish-American Veterans of Massachusetts and a past commander of the Polish-American Veterans of World War II, Worcester Chapter. He was a scout master of the former Boy Scout Troop 71 sponcered by Our Lady of Czestochowa parish. Mr. Zukowski was also a member of th St. Mary\’s Boosters.
The funeral will be held Monday from Henry Funeral Home, 33 ward St., with a 10 a.m. Mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish Memorial Fund.
