Subscription Update Obituary

    Nettie L. (Taylor) Kimbar, 74, of Worcester, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital.

    She leaves her husband of 57 years, Henry J. Kimbar; a daughter, Christine M. Hasanowicz and her husband James A. of Worcester; two sons, John A. Kimbar and his wife Mary E. (Donovan) of Townsend and James A. Kimbar of Worcester; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kimbar-Leduc of Auburn; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Ronald Taylor of Worcester; a sister, Mary Morse of Holden and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Edward S. Kimbar and two brothers, John T. Taylor, Jr., and Robert Taylor. Nettie was born in Worcester, a daughter of John T. Taylor, Sr., and Mabel L. (Allard) Taylor and lived here for most of her life.

    Mrs. Kimbar was a cashier for many years and retired from BIG Discount Super Markets. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Quinsigamond Village Community Center and ran the Food Pantry there for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Nettie was a great cook, loved to shop, enjoyed going to flea markets, but especially loved the time spent with family and friends.

    The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, January 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 34 Ward St., Worcester, Ma., 01610.
