Subscription Update Obituary

     John Sandstrom, 73, of Bond Rd., died at home with his family by his side on Friday, February 22, 2013, after a long illness. Born in Worcester and raised in Princeton, John was the son of Eric and Pauline (Wesorek) Sandstrom and lived 50 years in Jefferson.
     John owned and operated Sandstrom’s Dairy Farm in Jefferson from 1963 to 2002. He enjoyed the outdoors and tending to his dairy herd. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and looked forward to family gatherings.
     His best friend and loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn M. (Boisvert) Sandstrom died in 2000. He is survived by his son, James J. Sandstrom with whom he lived; two daughters, Cheryl A. Duval and her husband Steven of Petersham and Cynthia J. DiNoia and her husband Paul of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Jessica L. Sandstrom, Jared J. and Dalton J. Duval, Nickolas P., Jayson P., and Olivia M. DiNoia; nephews and nieces. His son, John “Rick” Sandstrom died in 1989. He is also predeceased by a brother, Donald H. Sandstrom.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service honoring John’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
