Subscription Update Obituary

Janet V. (Roberts) O’Gara, 71, of Worcester died Sunday, December 11th, 2011 in St. Vincent Hospital.

She leaves her husband of 35 years, Edward F. O’Gara; four sons, Thomas Farer and his wife, Jean of Sutton, David O’Gara and his wife, Ann Marie of Auburn, John O’Gara and his wife, Lynette of Florida and Alan O’Gara and his wife, Denise of Worcester; a brother, Lawrence Roberts of Alfred, ME; a sister, Harriett Roberts Hall of Alfred, ME; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Ivy of Alfred, ME. A brother, Lester Roberts and a sister, Catherine Roberts predeceased her.

She was born in Alfred, ME the daughter of Lester and Ertie (Turpin) Roberts. Janet worked at State Mutual Insurance Company and previously worked at Robert Hall Clothing for over 20 years. She worked the polls in the City of Worcester for over 25 years and was secretary of Ward 7 Republican Committee for over 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Worcester Republican Committee.

The funeral is Thursday, December 15th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 14th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church Building Fund, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
