Subscription Update Obituary

     Hertha E. (Frowein) Schofield, 83, of Forestdale Rd., died peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Overlook Masonic Nursing Home in Charlton. Born in Keene, New Hampshire, Hertha was the daughter of Oscar and Augusta (Zinn) Frowein and had lived in East Brookfield and later, 53 years in Paxton.
     She is survived and will be lovingly missed by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Schofield; a son, Kenneth Schofield, Jr. and his wife Cathi of Colchester, Vermont; two step-daughters, Crystal Bridgeo and her husband Mark of South Maine and Robin Cherry of Worcester; two grandchildren, Jason and Ryann Schofield; and two great-grandchildren, Arabella and Azariah Hungerford. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Oscar Frowein.
     Hertha was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer. She was a licensed practical nurse and a nursing supervisor for 10 years at the Stone House Hill Nursing Home in Worcester. She enjoyed counter cross stitching, needle point, crocheting and quilting. She loved her backyard and particularly liked feeding the chipmunks and birds.
     A funeral service honoring Hertha’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Hertha’s memory to Overlook Hospice Services, Davenport Building, 2nd Floor, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
