Subscription Update Obituary

     Gertrude (Roberts) Rosemond, 80, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Saint Vincent Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Claude D. Rosemond in January 2002.
     She is survived by her loving family of two daughters, Gloria Johnson, with whom she lived and Dorothy Hazard and her husband Robert of West Palm Beach, Florida; three grandsons, Keith Johnson of Worcester, Rahsaan Hazard of Worcester and Ronnie Johnson, Sr. of Shrewsbury; six great grandchildren, Ronnie Johnson, Jr., Tynell Johnson, Tiara Johnson, Dayshawna Johnson, Aniyah Johnson and Matthew Nalchajian; three brothers, Palmas Roberts of High Point, NC, Johnny Roberts and James Roberts both of Greensboro, NC; a sister, Laura Harrison of Greensboro; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, William Roberts and by a sister, Hattie Rawles. Gertrude was born in Farifax, South Carolina, daughter of the late Nathan Thompson and Carrie Dixson Roberts.
     Gertrude worked as a private housekeeper for Dr. Elliot Reiner for many years, before she retired. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. She was an excellent cook and fed her family with love and grace. She was a kind and giving woman, who will be remembered for the smile she shared with everyone.
     Her services will be held on Friday, December 21, in Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street, Worcester, with calling hours from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon followed by her Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
