Subscription Update Obituary

Catherine M. (Bedard) Brooks, 83, of Worcester, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in St. Mary Healthcare.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Regis H. Brooks; her son, Armand A. Brooks of Kingston, MA; four daughters, Carol A. Johnston of Worcester, Rita M. Cardinal of Douglas, Amanda J. Aubin and her husband George of Worcester and Faye A. Sargent of Worcester; her sister, Patricia Cross and her husband Ray of St. Johnsbury, VT; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT the daughter of Archie and Harriet (Davis) Bedard. Mrs. Brooks had been employed by the City of Worcester as a crossing guard at Gates Lane School. She was a member of the former St. Charles Borromeo Parish, and will be remembered for knitting items all year for its annual Christmas Bazaar. Mrs. Brooks enjoyed crafts, gardening, animals, and most especially time spent with her family.

The funeral is Thursday, October 6th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with her Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 until 10:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association , 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
