     Bienvenida “Minnie” (Luna) DiPilato, 91, formerly of Shrewsbury, Ma, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida.
     Minnie’s loving husband of over 67 years Nicholas DiPilato, Sr. passed away Last March 4th She will lovingly be remembered by her devoted children; Nicholas DiPilato Jr. and his wife Marsha of Shrewsbury; Rose Marie Rine of Jacksonville, Florida with whom she lived; Matthew DiPilato and his wife JoAnn of Amherst, NH; Minnie is also survived by her sister, Gloria Luna in Ponce, Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren, Kristin Anthony & Jonathan Rine, Sara Lamey and her husband Thomas, Lisa, Maria, Erik and Amy DiPilato; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Rine, Nicholas and Shannon Lamey, and Lorelei; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Her father Antonio and mother Sophia (DeLuca) Luna, as well as brothers Frank, Angel and Matthew Luna, and son-in-law S. Scott Rine all predeceased her.
     She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, met Nick as he was serving his country during World War II, in Puerto Rico. They married and moved to Worcester to raise their family until settling in Shrewsbury for 31 years moving to Florida permanently for retirement in 1994.
     A member of St. Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury. Minnie at onetime was active in St Anne’s Ladies Guild and the Ladies Guild of Worcester Lodge of Elks. She once worked as a customer service representative for White Cleaners in Shrewsbury.
     Minnie’s funeral will be Tuesday February 12th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am in St Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday February 11th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Anne’s Church free Medical Clinic, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury 01545.
