Gerard G. Gagne, 82, of Clarendon St., died Monday Jan. 12 in his daughters home in Sutton. His wife of 57 years, Jeanne M. (Latour) Gagne died Sept. 30, 1999.
He leaves three sons, Donald G. Gagne of North Grafton; Paul M. Gagne of Millbury and Raymond J. Gagne of Worcester; two daughters, Jacqueline M. Breault of Sutton and Celeste E. Gagne of Ormond Beach, Fl., nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Maurice J. Gagne of Worcester died in 1966. He was born in Worcester, son of Alfred A. and Leontine M. (Beaupre) Gagne and lived here all his life. Mr. Gagne was a printing stereotyper 35 years for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and retired in 1979. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and was later active with the Coast Guard reserves. Mr. Gagne was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and its former Men’s Club. He was also the first scoutmaster for Troop 64 at St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Gagne was a volunteer for the Worcester Public Library since 1998. After retiring he earned his associate’s degree from Assumption College. The funeral will be held on Friday Jan. 16 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., (Rte. 122) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday Jan. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m |
