Subscription Update Obituary

     Wilfred L. Lariviere, 83, of Holden, passed away at home on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born in Northbridge, the son of Wilfred and Victoria (Gendron) Lariviere, and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden 51 years ago. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict with Company B 645 Engineering Battalion.

Wilfred attended Worcester Boys Trade and was a painter for 40 years. He attended St. John’s Church in Worcester where he married his wife, Barbara, 61 years ago.

He coached his children in softball and basketball in Holden and was an umpire. He loved John Wayne movies and bowling.

He leaves his wife, Barbara A. (Mitchell) Lariviere; a son, William E. Lariviere of Leominster; four daughters, Susan M. Orrico and her husband, Mark of Holden, Cheryl V. Morrow and her husband, David of Worcester; Linda F. Elie and her fiancé, Paul Podmostka, and Michele A. Saucier and her partner, George Kustigian, Jr., all of Leicester; two sisters-in-law, Carole Rouche and her husband, Brad of Spencer and Franny McManus and her husband, George of Chatham; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Wilfred’s family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, and again at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, before leaving in procession for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. John’s Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations be made to the Salmon VNA & Hospice, 37 Birch St., Milford, MA 01757.
