Subscription Update Obituary

     Wilbur D. Rackley, 77 of Church St., died Wednesday, Aug. 10 at his home.

He leaves his wife and best friend of 23 years, Joan A. (Garabedian) Rackley. his son Peter Rackley and his wife Frances of Raynham, his daughter Judy Eisner and her husband Robert of Blackstone, a step son Paul Goodrich and his wife Jessica of Spencer, step daughters Susan Green and her husband Walter of No.Brookfield, and Tammy Toupin and her husband Robert of Oakham, three brothers Robert Rackley of Willard, N.C., Decatur Rackley and his wife Jean of Wallace, N.C., and Thomas Rackley of Teachey, N.C., 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Margaret Rackley Treihart.

Wilbur worked in the building maintenance department at General Motors in Framingham for 29 years before retiring. He later worked as a maintenance supervisor at Emmanuel Village in Worcester.

Born in Rose Hill, N.C., he was the son of Thomas and Annie Ruth (Lane) Rackley. He later served his country with the U.S. Coast Guard and also the National Guard of North Carolina. He was a member of the Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 American Legion in Spencer.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. 15th. District in Milford, the Spencer Fish & Game Club and the First Congregational Church of Spencer.

He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, golf, the Red Sox and Patriots and occasional trips to the casino. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Batbouta at Reliant, Overlook Masonic Home and Hospice, and Steve from Laura’s Guardian Angels who cared for Wilbur prior to his passing.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15 at 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, Aug. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, Ma. 01507.
