Subscription Update Obituary

     Wayne R. Gibson, 69, of Seabury Heights, Worcester, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

He leaves a son, Christopher A. Gibson of Ware; a brother Elwin F. “Sonny” Gibson, Jr and his wife Dorothy of Oquossoc, Maine; five grandchildren, Miranda, Christopher, Matthew, Ashlee, and Alexander; several nieces and nephews, including Francis and his wife Patti Gibson, Glenn and his wife Kathleen Gibson; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah & Allison, Melissa & Shaun, Jennifer & David & Amanda & Glenn, and great, great nephews Asher & Gibson. His son Jonathan A. Gibson, died in 2005. His former wife, Grace (Hisoire) Gibson Landry, died in 2006. He was born in Worcester, son of Elwin F. and Genevieve (Langowski) Gibson and lived in Worcester most of his life.

Wayne was a commercial truck driver for Gibson’s Dairy in Worcester. He was a member of Central Community Grange, MA State Grange, National Grange, Kemankeag Lodge of Free Masons, #213 in Rangely, Maine, Kora Shriners. He enjoyed bowling and loved to travel in his motor home. He also ran a ceramics shop.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, January 22 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wayne’s name to the Springfield Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
