Subscription Update Obituary

     Virginia “Ginny” (Ferraro) Rizzuto,87, of Worcester died peacefully Wednesday January 6, 2016 after a brief illness. Her husband Raymond R. Rizzuto died in 1995. She is survived by her loving family; daughters; Virginia “Ginny” White and her husband Joseph of Millbury, Patti E. Bartlett of Worcester, a son Raymond R Rizzuto Jr. and his wife Denise of Deltona Florida. Ginny is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Laganelli and her husband Vito of Worcester, and Carol Wojcik and her husband Bill of Milaca MN. She was the loving grandmother to Nancy Dano and her husband Al, Joseph White and his wife Danielle, Kenneth White, Kim Rizzuto, and Robbie Rizzuto and his wife Crystal. Ginny was also the great grandmother to Jonathan, McKenzie, Jeff, Tammy, Hayley, Vincent, Stephanie, Anthony, and Courtney, also many nieces, and nephews.

Virginia was born in Worcester January 31, 1928 daughter of the late James and Virginia (Serra) Ferraro and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade School. Ginny loved being a homemaker, she had several jobs in her younger years, but the most important one to her was being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, and was a member of the Hilltoppers Social Bowling League. She loved to golf and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Ginny will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Ginny’s family would like to thank her friends Bill Leonard, and Earl and Joann Fanion for their kindness and concern shown to Ginny through the years. Their generosity will always be appreciated.

Ginny’s funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10:30 AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A period of visitation with the family will be from 9AM to 10:30AM. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN. 38105.
