Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas Guy Sanderson, 62, of West Brookfield, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Karen Jo (Pulsifer) Sanderson, a son, Michael T. Sanderson of Rochdale, a daughter, Brittany A. Chapman of Athol, a sister, Donna Martinez and her wife C.J. Murphy of Dedham, a brother, Michael Swett and his wife Susan of Worcester, a grandson Cameron Chapman, a granddaughter Lillian Chapman, and a nephew Ryan Martinez.  Thomas also leaves many close friends, especially those from the Columbus Park area, where he grew up. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Donald Bates Sanderson and Marion Barbara (McMahon) Sanderson.  He graduated from South High School in Worcester.

Thomas was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served proudly on the USS Ranger. He enjoyed hockey (Boston Bruins), antique cars, Quabbin Reservoir (genealogy / history), music, and movies.

Calling hours will be Friday December 1, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:30 am, with prayers at 11:30 am at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue, Worcester.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
