Therese (Terry) G. (Methot) Brady, 88, passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Terry was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arcadius and Fridoline (Blanchard) Methot. She moved to Millbury in 1953 where she resided for 63 years.

Predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Brady, in 1987, she leaves four sons, Peter R. Brady and his wife, Susan of Douglas, Paul G. Brady of Vieques, Puerto Rico, Patrick W. Brady and his wife, Karen Shadbegian of Princeton and Michael S. Brady and his wife, Sharon of South Chatham; five daughters, Nancy E. Brady and her husband, Richard Gadilauskas of Sterling, Marianne Bergenholtz and her husband, Thomas of Worcester, Helen J. Locke and her husband, Oren of Barre, Laurie T. Theriault and her partner, Robert Jenal of Worcester, and Anne Brady and her partner, Jenne Nitishin of Medway; twenty grandchildren; three great grandchildren with twins on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and John Methot and three sisters, Jeanne LeComte, Helen St. Yves and Marie Boisseau.

Terry graduated from Classical High School and Framingham State College. She practiced at the Worcester Pastoral Counseling Center as a psychotherapist for thirty-five years. After retirement from the center she continued her private practice actively counseling clients until her recent illness.

Terry spent her life caring for and impacting the lives of others. As the mother of nine, she was a constant supporter, counselor and cheerleader actively sharing in her children’s lives and enjoying her 32 member multi-generational family.

Terry devoted her counseling career to improving the plight of families suffering from addiction. Deeply empathetic to those in need of help, she established the Hilltop Al-Anon Meeting in her home. For 30 years the meetings at Terry’s home provided comfort and guidance to countless people afflicted by the insidious family disease.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, and from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Thursday, August 18, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Therese will be held on Thursday, August 18, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
