Subscription Update Obituary

     Sven A. Williamson, Jr., 93, formerly of Kosta Street in Worcester, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Norma P. (Capuano) Williamson; four sons, Joseph A. and his wife, Jane of Whitinsville, Sven A., III and his wife, Paulette, of Oxford, Arthur R. and his wife, Vanessa of Worcester, and Anders S. and his wife, Paige of Holden; grandchildren, Heather and Scott Comptois, Brooke and Scott Wrenn, Andrea and David Cortese, Carla and Will Taylor, Anders Williamson Jr., Christopher Williamson, Kristin Williamson, Christian Ward, Cameron Ward, Katie Williamson, Lorraine Williamson, and Arthur Williamson; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Aaron Comptois, Alex and Ben Cortese, Madison and Kennedy Wrenn, Arianna Williamson, William Williamson, Layla Couture, and Liliana Taylor; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary A. Williamson and Patricia LaFontaine and brother, Arthur Williamson.

Sven was born in Worcester, son of Anna (Fernberg) and Sven A. Williamson, Sr. He retired in 1985 from Lodding Engineering after 50 years of service and then worked at Saint Catherine of Sweden Church. While his sons were growing up, he was a cub scout leader for Den 42 and President of the Little League. Sven enjoyed spending time with his family at their weekly gatherings or celebrations, as well as, just going out for coffee at Helen’s Bakery.

Calling hours at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester will be held Monday, April 25, from 4-7pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 26, at 11am. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: VNA of Southern Worcester County & Central MA Hospice, P.O. Box 368, Webster, MA 01570.
