Subscription Update Obituary

     Ruth E. (Davis) Wagner, 75, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully with her beloved husband by her side on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. Born in Holden and raised in Rutland, Ruth was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Catherine (Davitt) Davis and lived 55 years in Jefferson.

She is survived and will be lovingly missed by her husband of 55 years, Robert F. Wagner; her daughter, Susan L. Leroux of Orange; her son, Robert F. Wagner, II of Milford; three sisters, Mary Carr and her husband, William, Esther Hill and her husband, James and Gloria Gardner and her husband, Warren all of Holden; a grandson, Theodore “Teddy” Wagner of Milford; two brothers-in-law, Richard Wagner and his wife, Karen of Florida and Jack Kissel and his wife, Annmarie of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Jane Mosher of Rutland; and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Ruth is predeceased by a brother, Robert Davis and a sister, Kathleen O’Grady.

Ruth attended Rutland schools and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden. She worked many years at State Mutual Life Assurance Co. in Worcester as an underwriter and was later a schoolbus driver for Pearson Bus Co. in Holden and McCarthy Bus Co. in North Brookfield. Ruth was a lover of cats and will be particularly missed by her two cats, Bugaboo and Leo.

Funeral services honoring Ruth’s life will be private at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16. Interment will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606 or the Holden Fire Department, 1384 Main St., Holden, MA 01520.
