Subscription Update Obituary

Rosalie Borek, 76, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday, October 7, at Knollwood Nursing Center. She is survived by her three children, Laura J. Summer and her husband David of Lincoln; Joseph A. Borbone, Jr., and his wife, Cheryl of West Boylston; Christopher J. Borbone and his wife, Sommerly of Barre and Brookfield; her sister, Vivian Borek of Quincy; six grandchildren, Peyton, Sophie, Dominic and Michael Borbone, and Stephanie and Sarah Summer; and her several cousins; former husband, Joseph A. Borbone of Springfield, Ill; Also, her longtime good friend Peter Wilcox of Worcester.

Rosalie was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Sobota) Borek. She attended the former Worcester South High School and graduated from Framingham State College with a Bachelor of Science degree. She had been a teacher of home economics at Wachusett Regional High School prior to raising her family.

Rosalie will be remembered as a kind, caring and giving person. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rosalie was also an accomplished seamstress and knitter, and created many wonderful outfits for her family. Her work was selected for regional sewing competition.

Funeral services for Rosalie will take place Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. A visitation held from 9:30 unitl 11:00 a.m. will immediately be followed by a service in the funeral home and flowers are welcome. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery, Paxton.
