Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. Cook, Sr., 91, of Mary Scano Drive, formerly of Rochdale, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 in his home.

His wife of 47 years, Claire “Daisy” (McInnis) Cook died in 2005. He leaves three sons, Robert J. Cook, Jr. and his wife Lynne of Lunenburg, Stephen J. Cook and his wife Kandi of Spencer and Thomas P. Cook and his wife Cindy of Charlton; a daughter Mary J. Deotte and her husband Greg of Brookfield; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Marion Fetter. He also leaves the residents and staff of Christopher Heights in Worcester, whom he regarded as his extended family.

Mr. Cook was born in Worcester, son of Jay and Pearl (French) Cook. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II and was a member of Shannon-Davis Post 205 American Legion in Rochdale. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Holden Plastics in Worcester. He enjoyed playing cribbage, doing crossword puzzles, camping and fishing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was deeply loved and respected as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Oct. 15 in the First Congregational Church of West Brookfield, 36 North Main Street, West Brookfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing arrangements.
